Lisa Verlo performs HOLLYWOODN’T a solo show and personal journey across Hollywood’s unsettling sexual landscape of casting couches. Directed by and developed with Jessica Lynn Johnson. In Association with Whitefire Theatre for the largest solo theatre festival on the West Coast SOLOFEST 2019.
A sexual resume told with such candor and insight into the life of an actress before women dared to speak up. With original songs co-written with Frank Simes (Musical Director for The Who) Lisa Verlo brings a light heart to a heavy subject, and along with creative visuals and video projection Lisa will have people singing #metoo before the night is through.
Technical Direction by Brandon Loeser
Festival Producers Bryan Rasmussen and Nancy Santiago
The performance will be followed by a brief Q&A and reception with complimentary refreshments and treats.
“Lisa tells her Hollywood story of sex, innuendo and unhinged promises with wholesome candor, whimsy and irony. What she sought and what occurred, while pursuing a career (before Me Too) is carefully articulated and forthright, sparing the rancor for a brainier approach. Her voice is wonderfully expressive with flashes of humor and emotion. Shes ON! And her work has the ring of Truth.”

“Lisa is a vulnerable, charming, and refreshing artist. She generously shares her experience as an aspiring actress before boundaries in the entertainment industry were a thing – the subject of her story is both relevant and told from an honest and human perspective. The songs she wrote herself and performs in her show are both funny and powerful. This is a brave and relatable piece!”
– Julia Schramek
“Loved, loved, loved this show! Lisa Verlo does an amazing job relating her sexual awakenings from childhood to the more real exploitation in Hollywood. Her portrayal of her youthful and young adult naïveté is both vulnerable and, at times, amusing. The use of digital media, props, and music add to the entire experience. A must see!!”
