OBLIVIOUS TO EVERYONE is an awardwinning, internationally touring solo show written and performed by published Playwright Jessica Lynn Johnson. OTE explores the media’s influence on American society. This serio-comedy centers around the character Carrie, a Paris Hilton wannabe who has developed multiple personalities due to her unhealthy obsession with pop-culture. Rapidly flipping identities like TV stations, the audience will discover just how oblivious this LA bombshell really is. Johnson portrays a slew of characters of different age, sex, and race as a means to examine the influential stereotypes, prejudices, and pressures prevalent in American media.

Awarded BEST NATIONAL SOLO PERFORMER, Johnson’s other OTE credits include; the LA Women’s Theatre Festival, the Dialogue One Festival, the NYC Samuel French Playwright Festival, the Kansas City Fringe Festival, the NYC International Fringe Festival, the NYC Sola Voce Festival, the Monodrama Thespis Festival in Germany, and the Black Magic Women’s Theatre Festival in Amsterdam. OTE also enjoyed an extended run at NYC’s prestigious Theatre Row on 42nd Street where it continued to receive rave reviews. Some of Johnson’s college performances include Kansas State University, Berkley University, Williams College, Mohawk Community College, Keystone College, Missouri State University, and UC Irvine. Lastly, Johnson was excited to showcase and Emcee at APCA MIDWEST this past fall to promote her 2011 tour and sends a huge thank you to the students of  Owens Community College where she performed most recently. Next, Johnson cannot wait to perform for the students of Sauk Valley Community College in the Spring of 2011!
